Kindness

At its most fundamental level, civility is a stubborn persistence to continue to be in community with others, even when we disagree. As ASU professor Liz Lerman, says in this video, kindness can serve as “glue” that helps to hold that community together when negotiations over values—fundamental to Principled Innovation (Practice M1, C2)—threaten to tear it apart.
