THRIVE Collective

A leadership experience for those shaping the future of education

Why THRIVE?

The challenge we face

In today’s education landscape—where change is constant, complexity is the norm and wellbeing is often at risk—leaders and educators need more than new strategies. We need each other. We need the space to reflect, reconnect with purpose and strengthen the human capacities that sustain meaningful, resilient and values-driven work.

The opportunity we offer

THRIVE Collective is a six-month leadership experience and community of practice designed for cross-functional teams navigating the complexity of systems change in education. Through a blend of retreat, reflection, coaching and collaboration, teams grow the personal and collective capacities needed to foster cultures of purpose, trust and principled action.

More than a program, THRIVE is a place to discover new ways of showing up—for yourself, your team and the communities you serve.

What you’ll experience

The journey includes:

  • A two-day, in-person retreat to slow down, reconnect and build trust as a team.
  • Monthly virtual gatherings to deepen reflection, practice and collaboration
  • Social learning with a cohort of committed, values-driven leaders
  • Individual coaching and reflective practices that ground your leadership
  • Tools and frameworks rooted in Principled Innovation, Togetherness Practice, systems thinking and character formation

What you’ll explore

Grounded in the principles of reflective practice, relational leadership and transformative learning, this experience will focus on four key areas of growth:

  • Evolving as individuals – Strengthen your inner awareness and resilience
  • Building trust and connection – Deepen relationships that sustain meaningful work
  • Nurturing shared responsibility – Align your team around purpose and action
  • Fostering Communities of Practice – Create environments where people and ideas flourish

Who should join?

We invite teams of 3-4 people – ideally with diverse roles across schools, districts, higher ed institutions, or community organizations.

THRIVE is for educators, leaders and changemakers ready to engage in learning that is:

  • Reflective and relational
  • Rooted in character and wellbeing
  • Oriented toward real-world challenges and systems transformation

What makes THRIVE unique?

  • A collaboration between ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation and ASHOKA, a global changemaker network
  • Focused on both inner work and collective action
  • Emphasizes courage, care and connection as essential leadership practices
  • Builds an “ecocommunity” of principled and innovative educators who support one another’s growth

What people are saying

“This has transformed the way we communicate, as it encourages vulnerability and authenticity, allowing us to address issues more effectively and empathetically. Collaboration has also improved, as team members feel more supported and are more willing to lend a hand when needed. I don’t have to ask them to team up on a project – it just happens and I notice as I am walking by or hear them on a call – it is so amazing! Additionally, decision-making has become more inclusive and considerate, as we are more attuned to each other’s perspectives and well-being.”

“It has been a revelation, showing me that taking the time to reflect on my actions and how I engage with others not only enhances my productivity but also deepens my connections and the quality of my contributions. This holistic approach has enriched my professional and personal life, allowing me to show up authentically and positively influence the world around me. I am so deeply grateful for this transformative journey, which has reshaped my perspective and approach to leadership and life.
